Siberz, Mrs. Kathleen (5-6)
6th Grade Social Studies:
"Our World" an overview of world cultures from the earliest history to modern day. Students have a textbook at home to use for daily use.
All textbook work is done in our Social Studies spiral. We do vocabulary and review questions for each lesson of the chapter. Through class discussion students add on important information for each lesson.
- Homework is usually a worksheet to review a lesson.
- Chapter tests are based on class reading and discussion. STUDY OF REVIEW WORKSHEETS AND TEXT QUESTIONS PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH A GOOD STUDENT GUIDE TO PREPARE FOR THE TESTS.
- We usually spend about 2 weeks on a chapter.
Projects: Twice per trimester short term projects will be assigned. They will be based on 2 chapters and students will be given 6-8 choices to select from. These may include maps, dioramas, drawings, a collage, reports, or diary entries.
