8th grade homework ~Week of : Jan. 30

  

  • Mon.  1/9/2012--(This assignment will be due on Wed. 1/11) Read Sections 1 & 2 of Ch. 20.  On looseleaf, answer # 2, 3, 4 ,5 for BOTH sections on Review pages 617 and 625.  A test on Ch. 20 (based on homework & class notes) will be on Friday, 1/13
  • Tues.  1/10--See Monday's assignment
  • Wed. 1/11 Continue reading Section 3 of Ch. 20 and answer #2,3,4,5 in the Review section.  We will continue to prepare for the Ch. 20 test on Fri. 1/13
  • Thurs. 1/12   Study for Chapter 20 test tomorrow
  • Fri. 1/13  No written homework
  • Tues. 1/17  No written assignment 
  • Thurs.  1/19  Complete "Industrial America"
  • Tues. 1/24  Bring information about your topic to class tomorrow to discuss strategies for presentation with your partner
  • Wed. 1/25  No written assignment; students should be reviewing the research gathered for topics; Fridays' class will be students to organize their presentations with their partner.  Presentation dates will be assigned on Friday
  • Thurs. 1/26  Students should answer the remaining questions on the handout for Ch. 21 Section 1 which was returned to them; tomorrow students will continue to meet with their presentation partner to organize their topics
  • Mon. 1/30 (due on Wed.) students should read Sections 2 & 3 of Ch. 21 and answer #2-3-4-5 from the Review section for both; answer on loose leaf & remember to change the format of each question into an answer
  • Tues. 1/31 See Monday's assignment; due dates for presentations will be given tomorrow; these presentations will begin the week of 2/6
  • Wed. 2/1 Additional notes were given out today for Sections 2 & 3 of Chapter 21 as well as the Section 1 questions that, after correcting, were submitted for credit: Chapter 21 Sections 1-2-3 (only) test will be Friday 2/3.
  • Thurs. 2/2 Study for Chapter 21 Sections 1-2-3 test tomorrow, Friday.

7th grade homework Week of: Jan. 30

  • Mon. 1/9/2012--No written homework; students will be receiving their blue Constitution book & parent letter tomorrow, Tues. 1-10
  • Tues. 1/10--Students should review the letter sent home today with their parent & return it signed by Thursday.  Page 52 in the Constitution book should be completed for homework.  Please remember to have notecards for Thursday as we will begin making flash cards that day?
  • Wed.  1/11 Read pgs. 4 & 5 in Constitution books & answer questions on each page; tomorrow (Thursday) we will begin making flash cards.
  • Thurs.  1/12  Complete pgs. 6-7-8 in the Constitution blue book
  • Fri.  1/13  No written homework
  • Tues. 1/17  Study pgs. 3-8 in the Constitution book for a quiz on Thurs. 1/19
  • Thurs.  1/19  Complete pgs.9-12 in Blue Book
  • Tues. 1/24  Read pgs. 13 & 14 in Blue book and answer questions on pg. 14; Quizzes for pgs. 3-8 were returned today - these should be kept as study guides: some quizzes (below 70%) need to be signed & returned tomorrow
  • Wed. 1/25  Study pgs. 9-14 for a quiz on Friday
  • Thurs. 1/26   study for quiz on pages 9-14 tomorrow, Friday
  • Mon. 1/30 Class did not meet today due to an assembly with our speaker, Congressman Dan Lipinski, who spoke to our Jr. High classes about the workings of government at the federal level
  • Tues. 1/31 No written assignment; students should be reviewing & studying the notecards every night
  • Wed. 2/1 Worksheet #14 was given in class today: follow the directions for answering the 5 situations described on it & answer on a separate sheet of loose leaf - due on Friday.  The next quiz will be on Tuesday 2/7 on pg. 19 (Senate & House of Representatives)
  • Thurs. 2/2  No written homework; classwork from Wed. & Thurs. should be completed for tomorrow, Friday.

Religion  ~ We will be attending the 8:00 Mass on Tuesdays this year

  • We have begun our Confirmation study; a different hand out will be distributed each week for discussion & review. 
  • As a reminder: 30 service hours are due by March 6
  • The February student/parent worksheet is due Feb. 16
  • A time line of due dates for Confirmation activities was distributed to parents of 8th graders on Mon. 11/21 Parent Conference Day.
