                                   FOURTH GRADE MATH
Test Tuesday February 7

Know how to do the following;

Lesson 6-1 Multiply Multiples of ten.

To find 90 x 300 multiply 9 and 3. Next, count the number of zeros in each factor. Then, write 3 zeros at the end. 90 x 300 = 27,000

Multiply 2-digit numbers by two and three-digit numbers.

Examples: (Please note, this computer program is not user friendly.
It is very difficult to line text up exactly as I would like to.)

         6 6                       2 1 3
       x 2 8                     x   2 9

  • "GAME DAY" Feb. 8
  • Chapter 6 (focus this month)
-Lesson 1 Multiply Multiples of Ten
    -Lesson 2 Estimating Products
-Lesson 3 Using Arrays to Multiply
-Lesson 4 Make an Organized List (Problem-Solving Strategy)
    -Lessons 5 & 6 Multiplying 2-Digit numbers by 2, 3, and 4-digit numbers
    -Lesson 8 Multiplying Money
    -Lesson 9 and 10 Problem-Solving Skills

Students will round whole numbers through millions. If no place value is mentioned, round to the highest place value.

How  to Round Numbers:  Look at the digit to the right of the rounding place. If it is 5 or more, add 1 to the rounding digit. If it is less than 5, leave the rounding digit alone. Step 2: Change the digits to the right of the rounding place to zeros. Remember: 4 to the floor and 5 to the sky.

ALL TESTS MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN AND RETURNED TO SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY. This is the only way I know parents are aware of students' progress. If signed tests or homework are not received on time, an Academic Warning will be issued. Upon the 4th offense, parents will receive a phone call home.
