St. Michael Cheerleaders Give from the Heart

On December 21st the St. Michael School JV and Varsity cheerleaders attended their annual Christmas celebration. In lieu of a gift exchange, the teams combined their efforts to collect for the non-profit organization Heartland Alliance - Safe from the Start.

Heartland Alliance provides counseling to children ages 2-9 who have been abused, exposed to violence, or have suffered other forms of trauma. A Heartland representative surprised the 53 young ladies the night of the celebration to discuss the monumental difference they were helping to make in the lives of these children. Heartland graciously accepted the toys and donations collected by the SMS cheerleaders, rounding out a very charitable evening.
