First Grade Performs Three Piggy Opera
The first graders brought the classic story of "The Three Little Pigs" to life on February 4, 2010 at their performance of "The Three Piggy Opera." Family members and fellow students proudly watched as the confident and poised first graders adorned in pig noses, pig ears and curly tails took the stage carrying straw, sticks and bricks.
The opera began with a witty number performed by the whole cast that cautioned audience members of the Big Bad Wolf and warned that some parts were "scary, you know" and "only brave people sit in the front row." With the help of music director, Mrs. Nicole Simmons, first grade teachers, Mrs. Bartlett and Mrs. Quinn and instructional aides, Mrs. Melville and Mrs. Paulius, the students practiced for months to perfect their musical rendition of the classic story.
The Three Piggy Opera is a long standing St. Michael tradition that takes place during Catholic Schools Week and has become a fan favorite among adults and children alike.
